Integrative Cancer Care in Atlanta

Support That Goes Beyond Conventional Treatment Alone

A cancer diagnosis changes everything. You and your family suddenly have to learn a new vocabulary, absorb difficult news, and make decisions under pressure. We see cancer patients at every stage: active treatment, post-treatment recovery, long-term immune rebuilding, and years of survivorship.

Our role is to work alongside your oncologist, not to replace them. We help strengthen your body's response to conventional treatment, manage side effects, and support long-term recovery through personalized integrative protocols.

This is not alternative medicine. It is integrative medicine. Nearly three decades of integrative practice and a multidisciplinary clinical team of medical doctors, naturopathic physicians, nurse practitioners, and specialists stand behind every cancer care plan.

Partnership, not promises. We coordinate with your oncology team at every step.

Understanding the Condition

Cancer, Immunity, and What Conventional Care Often Misses

The Immune Connection

Cancer is usually allowed to exist and progress as a result of immune dysfunction. A healthy immune system identifies and eliminates abnormal cells daily. When the immune system is compromised by chronic stress, inflammation, nutritional depletion, toxic exposure, or the effects of treatment itself, abnormal cells can escape detection and progress.

Supporting immune function is not alternative to conventional treatment. It is the biological foundation that makes conventional treatment work better and recovery faster.

Why Conventional Treatment Alone May Not Be Enough

Conventional oncology excels at targeting disease. Surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation save lives and are often the correct first-line approach.

What conventional oncology is not designed to do is support the immune system, replenish nutrients, or restore healthy tissue damaged during treatment.

That gap is exactly where our team works. We support the systems conventional treatment does not address, so your body is better equipped to handle both the disease and the treatment.

Our Evaluation Process

Looking Beyond the Tumor

Your cancer care team needs information your imaging and blood work may not be measuring. Our evaluation goes beyond the standard panel to identify the factors that affect how well your body handles treatment and recovers from it.

We evaluate immune function markers, inflammatory markers, oxidative stress and antioxidant status, nutritional status (specific vitamins, minerals, amino acids), thyroid and adrenal function, gastrointestinal health and microbiome, and heavy metal or environmental toxic burden. These are the systems that directly impact your body's ability to fight, recover, and rebuild.

Results guide every recommendation we make, from which therapies are appropriate for your situation to the supplements and nutritional strategies that will support your immune system during treatment.

Hereditary Cancer Risk Assessment

For patients with a family history of cancer, we offer hereditary cancer risk assessment profiling across 30 gene types. Each gene mutation we test for has a corresponding protocol of monitoring, lifestyle direction, and preventive care based on your specific genetic profile. Insurance typically covers this test for patients with a qualifying family history.

The initial cancer consultation is $450, which reflects the complexity of the cancer-specific evaluation and care coordination with your oncology team. Visit our Insurance and Financing page for details on superbills, Cherry Financing, and CareCredit options.

The Difference

Conventional Only vs. Integrative Support

Both approaches have a place. Here is what integrative cancer care adds to your treatment plan.

Conventional Treatment Alone

  • Focuses primarily on the tumor
  • Side effects managed reactively as they appear
  • Limited nutritional guidance during treatment
  • Immune system often suppressed by treatment
  • Recovery between cycles left to the body
  • Post-treatment follow-up is surveillance-based
  • Rarely tests immune markers, nutrient levels, or inflammatory load

PMC Integrative Support

  • Focuses on the whole person, not just the disease
  • Side effects reduced proactively with targeted therapies
  • Personalized nutrition plan from a dedicated dietitian
  • Active immune support throughout every treatment cycle
  • Recovery accelerated with IV therapy, EBOO, and oxygen therapies
  • Post-treatment programs rebuild immune function and overall health
  • Comprehensive diagnostic testing guides every recommendation
  • Multidisciplinary clinical team of medical doctors, naturopathic physicians, nurse practitioners, and specialists
  • Dedicated patient navigator for every cancer patient
Why Progressive Medical Center

A Full Clinical Team Behind Your Recovery

Many integrative practices offer one or two supportive therapies. At PMC, your care is coordinated across an entire team of medical doctors, naturopathic physicians, nurse practitioners, dietitians, and a dedicated patient navigator, so your cancer support program is built around your complete picture.

Many of our cancer patients travel from across the country for our integrative program. Our patient navigation team coordinates treatment schedules, local accommodations, and transportation, so the logistics of out-of-town care are handled before you arrive.

For You and Your Family

We Know This Affects Everyone

A cancer diagnosis does not happen to one person. It changes the lives of everyone close to you. Spouses, parents, children, and close friends carry their own weight through the diagnosis, treatment, and recovery.

Your patient navigator is available to your family, too. They answer questions, help coordinate visits, and serve as a steady point of contact when the medical process feels overwhelming.

You are not navigating this alone. Neither are the people who love you.

Common Questions

Cancer & Immune Support FAQ

Do you work with my oncologist?

Yes. Our role is integrative, not alternative. We coordinate with your oncology team at every step, and many of our patients are actively in chemotherapy or radiation while receiving our therapies. We share relevant findings with your oncologist and respect their treatment direction.

What types of cancer do you support?

We support patients across many cancer types including breast, colon, prostate, lung, pancreatic, lymphoma, and others. Our approach is centered on supporting the patient as a whole person, regardless of the specific cancer type.

How much does the cancer support program cost?

The initial cancer consultation is $450, which reflects the complexity of the cancer-specific evaluation and care coordination. Treatment plans vary by diagnostic findings and your stage of care. We are out-of-network with insurance but provide superbills for reimbursement, and we work with Cherry Financing and CareCredit. Learn more on our Insurance & Financing page.

Can I start integrative care during chemotherapy or radiation?

Yes. High-dose vitamin C IV, EBOO, hyperbaric oxygen, and other integrative therapies are commonly used during active conventional treatment. Many patients find that starting integrative care during chemotherapy helps them tolerate it better and recover faster between cycles.

What if I have already finished conventional treatment?

Post-treatment recovery is a core part of our program. We rebuild immune function, address lingering side effects, support long-term cellular health, and monitor markers that reduce recurrence risk.

I live outside of Atlanta. Can I still receive care?

Yes. Many of our cancer patients travel from across the country. Your patient navigator coordinates your travel, treatment schedules, and accommodations. Learn more on our Out-of-Town Patients page.

Is this alternative medicine?

No. This is integrative medicine. Alternative medicine replaces conventional treatment. Integrative medicine works alongside it. We do not recommend stopping or skipping conventional oncology care.

Do I need a referral?

No referral is needed to schedule a cancer consultation. Call (770) 676-6000 or request an appointment online. A care coordinator will follow up within one business day.
