You Are in the Right Place

You Have Taken the Hardest Step. We Will Handle the Rest.

If you are reading this, you have already done the hard part: deciding to try something different. Most of our patients come to us after other providers have been unable to help them. Many have been told their labs look normal, or that their symptoms are stress, or that there is nothing more to do.

Over 80% of our patients come to us after other providers have been unable to help them. You are not the first patient to walk in here skeptical of the medical system. You will not be the last.

This page answers every question we hear before a first visit: what it costs, what happens at the appointment, what to bring, how to schedule. Take your time. Call us when you are ready.

Nearly three decades of integrative medicine in Atlanta, since 1997.

Your First Visit, Step by Step

A Real Conversation, Not a 15-Minute Appointment

Your first visit at Progressive Medical Center is approximately 90 minutes. The consultation itself is 45 to 60 minutes. This is a deep dive into your full health history, not a rushed symptom checklist. Here is exactly what happens from the moment you walk in.

  1. Arrive and Check In

Our team greets you when you walk in. The facility is 16,000 square feet, comfortable and modern, not a cramped office. If you have not completed your intake forms ahead of time, this is when you will finish them. Plan to arrive 15 minutes early if paperwork is not already done.

  2. Your Consultation (45 to 60 Minutes)

You meet with your physician one-on-one. The consultation covers your full health history, your current symptoms and concerns, prior diagnoses and treatments, medications and supplements, lifestyle factors (sleep, nutrition, stress, activity), and your goals. This is the depth of intake that lets us see patterns other providers have missed. Your first appointment is all about you.

  3. Physical Examination and Initial Assessment

Your physician conducts a physical exam and initial clinical assessment based on your history and presentation.

  4. Diagnostic Plan Discussion

Based on what surfaced in the consultation and exam, your physician explains which diagnostic testing is recommended and why. Progressive Medical Center uses comprehensive panels covering over 1,000 biomarkers. The testing plan is tailored to your specific presentation. See our Diagnostic Testing page for the full methodology.

  5. Treatment Plan Outline

Preliminary direction based on the consultation. The full treatment plan follows after your diagnostic results (typically 2 to 3 weeks for results to come back). Your first visit is a conversation, not a commitment to a specific treatment or a long-term contract.

  6. Next Steps and Scheduling

Your care coordinator helps you schedule any follow-up appointments, testing, and treatments before you leave. Clear next steps. No guessing about what to do next.

Pricing and Insurance

What It Costs and How Payment Works

Pricing is transparent and upfront. No surprises on the phone, no surprises at the front desk.

Consultation Fees

Your consultation fee covers the full consultation with a physician, physical exam, and diagnostic and treatment plan discussion. Diagnostic testing and treatments are billed separately based on the plan your physician recommends. The cancer and complex-case fee reflects a longer appointment, additional review of prior treatment history, and more complex diagnostic planning.

  • Standard consultation: $250
  • Cancer or complex case consultation: $450

Insurance

Out-of-network for all providers. This is a direct-care practice. Operating outside insurance networks lets our doctors spend the time your care requires without insurance-driven restrictions on visit length, diagnostic options, or treatment plans. We provide detailed superbills for out-of-network reimbursement. Many patients receive partial reimbursement depending on their specific policy. Some lab tests may be covered separately through third-party labs.

Financing Options

Both options offer flexible payment plans for consultation fees and treatment costs. Ask your care coordinator during your first call.

  • Cherry Financing
  • CareCredit

Be Prepared

What to Bring to Your First Visit

The more information you bring, the more thorough your first consultation can be. The intake form is detailed. That is intentional. The more we know about your full history, the better we can identify root causes other providers missed.

Forms and Records

  • Completed New Patient Intake Form (download below and complete at home)
  • Medical Records Release Form, if you have seen other providers
  • Recent lab results or diagnostic reports (PDFs, paper copies, or patient-portal screenshots all work)
  • Current medications and supplements list, with dosages, frequency, and how long you have been taking each

Essentials

  • Insurance card (for potential lab reimbursement through third-party labs)
  • Photo ID
  • Payment for the consultation ($250 standard or $450 for cancer patients)
  • A written list of your questions or concerns. Nothing is too small to bring up.

Day-of Logistics

Plan for about 90 minutes
  • Arrive 15 minutes early to complete any remaining paperwork
  • Wear comfortable clothing (a physical exam is part of the visit)
  • You are welcome to bring a family member, partner, or companion
  • Cherry Financing and CareCredit arrangements can be set up in advance

After Your First Visit

What Happens Next

Your first visit is the beginning of the process, not the end. After your consultation, your physician orders the diagnostic testing that was discussed during your visit. Results typically take 2 to 3 weeks.

Once results are in, your physician reviews them with the naturopathic team and dietitian (depending on your case) and develops a personalized treatment plan based on what the testing actually shows. You come back in for a follow-up visit to review results and walk through your plan together.

From there, your care is coordinated under one roof: diagnostic testing, physician visits, therapies, supplement protocols, and follow-up monitoring.

Common Questions

Common Questions Before Your First Visit

How much does the first visit cost?

The standard consultation is $250. Cancer and complex-case consultations are $450, reflecting the longer appointment and additional review of prior treatment history. This fee covers your full consultation with a physician, physical exam, and diagnostic and treatment plan discussion. Diagnostic testing and any treatments are billed separately based on the plan your physician recommends.

Do you accept insurance?

Progressive Medical Center operates on a direct-care model and does not participate in insurance networks. We provide detailed superbills you can submit to your insurance company for potential out-of-network reimbursement. Many patients receive partial reimbursement depending on their specific policy. For full insurance and financing details, see our Insurance & Financing page.

How long is the first appointment?

Plan for approximately 90 minutes for your first visit. The consultation with your physician runs 45 to 60 minutes. The remaining time covers check-in, physical exam, diagnostic plan discussion, and scheduling any follow-up appointments or testing.

Do I need a referral?

No referral is needed. You can schedule a consultation directly by calling (770) 676-6000 or requesting an appointment online.

What if I have already seen multiple doctors without answers?

You are not alone. Over 80% of our patients come to us after other providers have been unable to help them. Our job is to run the full workup your previous providers did not, identify what was missed, and build a treatment plan around the actual root cause of your symptoms.

What conditions do you specialize in?

We focus on complex and chronic conditions including cancer support, Lyme disease, autoimmune disorders, hormone imbalance, chronic fatigue, thyroid disorders, and more. See our Conditions hub and Therapies hub for the full list. We also provide advanced therapies for patients seeking proactive health optimization.

Can I bring someone with me?

Absolutely. Many patients find it helpful to bring a family member, partner, or friend to their first visit, especially when discussing complex history or treatment options. Bring whoever makes you feel most supported.

Do you treat children?

Yes. Our integrative pediatrics program is led by Melanie Wardle, NP, FMAPS. See our Integrative Pediatrics page for details on how we approach pediatric care.
