Integrative Women's Health

Your Symptoms Deserve a Real Investigation

Too many women are told their symptoms are normal, that they just need to manage stress, or that what they are experiencing is simply part of aging. Fatigue that does not respond to rest. Weight that refuses to budge despite effort. Brain fog, mood swings, sleep disruption, hair thinning, and a general sense that your body is no longer working the way it should. These are not things you should accept. They are signals that something needs attention.

At Progressive Medical Center, our women's health program combines functional and integrative medicine with advanced diagnostic testing to find what is actually driving your symptoms. We evaluate your hormones, thyroid, adrenal function, gut health, nutritional status, inflammatory markers, and metabolic health as an interconnected system, because that is how your body works. Treating one piece in isolation rarely produces lasting results.

Nearly three decades of integrative practice have given PMC the depth to identify and treat root causes that other providers overlook. Whether you are navigating perimenopause, managing a chronic condition, or simply tired of guessing, your plan is built around your unique biology.

What Brings Women to PMC

Common Concerns We See Every Day

Hormonal Imbalance and Menopause

Estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone work in concert. Hot flashes, night sweats, mood swings, weight gain, low libido, brain fog, and sleep disruption are common when the balance shifts.

Thyroid and Metabolic Dysfunction

Hypothyroidism is one of the most underdiagnosed conditions in women. Standard screenings check TSH alone. PMC runs full panels, including T3, T4, reverse T3, and thyroid antibodies.

Fatigue and Brain Fog

Adrenal dysfunction, nutrient depletion, hormonal imbalance, chronic inflammation, and mitochondrial inefficiency are common underlying drivers.

Weight Resistance and Body Composition

Hormonal shifts, thyroid dysfunction, insulin resistance, gut inflammation, food sensitivities, and cortisol dysregulation all contribute to weight that resists change.

Fertility and Reproductive Health

Infertility is often downstream of hormonal imbalance, thyroid dysfunction, nutritional deficiencies, or chronic inflammation. PMC has helped patients achieve pregnancies by rebalancing thyroid and hormonal systems. For condition-level depth, see Hormone Imbalance.

Autoimmune and Chronic Conditions

Autoimmune conditions disproportionately affect women. Hashimoto's, lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, fibromyalgia, and chronic fatigue syndrome are common presentations.

Advanced Diagnostics

Testing That Sees the Full Picture

PMC's women's health program begins where most providers stop: with comprehensive diagnostic testing that goes far beyond a standard blood panel and a single TSH check. We evaluate the interconnected systems that determine how you feel, function, and age.

Our core women's health evaluation includes full hormone panels covering estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, DHEA, thyroid (full panel including T3, T4, reverse T3, antibodies), and cortisol. Metabolic function is assessed through comprehensive chemistries covering more than 150 biomarkers. We evaluate gut health through microbiome analysis, intestinal permeability testing, and digestive function markers. Food sensitivity panels, nutritional deficiency testing, inflammatory markers, cardiovascular risk factors, and heavy metal screening complete the evaluation.

This is not a quick lab draw and a phone call with results. It is a thorough investigation that produces the data your care team needs to build a treatment plan matched to your specific biology. Every recommendation that follows is informed by what your results actually reveal.

Hormonal Health

Every Stage Deserves a Real Answer

Hormonal shifts define some of the most challenging transitions in a woman's life. Perimenopause can begin years before menopause, bringing irregular cycles, mood changes, sleep disruption, and weight shifts that feel sudden and unexplained. Menopause brings its own constellation of symptoms as estrogen and progesterone decline. And post-menopause introduces long-term considerations around bone health, cardiovascular risk, and cognitive function that deserve proactive attention.

PMC does not treat menopause as a single event with a single solution. Your hormones exist in a dynamic balance, and much like a symphony, when one instrument falls out of tune, the entire composition changes. We evaluate estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, thyroid hormones, adrenal function, and their interactions before recommending any treatment.

When bioidentical hormone replacement therapy is indicated, we use hormones that are structurally identical to what your body produces, dosed based on your individual lab results and monitored through periodic retesting. The goal is to restore the balance that allows your body to function at its best, at every stage, with the smallest effective dose necessary.

How We Help

Therapies and Services for Women's Health

PMC draws from multiple medical disciplines to build a treatment plan that addresses your specific concerns. These are the therapies most commonly used in our women's health programs.

Bioidentical Hormone Therapy

Estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, and thyroid optimization based on comprehensive lab work. PMC uses bioidentical hormones matched to your individual results and monitors your levels through ongoing retesting to maintain the balance your body needs.

Advanced Diagnostic Testing

Comprehensive panels covering hormones, thyroid, metabolic markers, gut health, nutritional deficiencies, food sensitivities, inflammatory markers, and cardiovascular risk. Testing is the foundation of every women's health plan at PMC.

IV Therapy and Nutrient Infusions

Targeted IV protocols that deliver nutrients, antioxidants, and therapeutic compounds directly to the bloodstream for maximum absorption. Used for energy restoration, immune support, hormonal health, and addressing nutritional deficiencies common in women.

Medical Weight Loss

A root-cause approach to weight management that identifies why your body is holding onto weight. Hormone optimization, thyroid evaluation, metabolic testing, GLP-1 therapies, nutritional counseling, and Styku 3D body composition scanning for lasting results.

Detoxification

Medical detox programs that address toxic burden from heavy metals, environmental chemicals, and metabolic waste. Toxin accumulation contributes to hormonal disruption, fatigue, brain fog, and chronic inflammation. PMC's protocols are guided by testing, not guesswork.

Biofeedback and Brain Mapping

QEEG brain mapping and neurofeedback protocols that address anxiety, depression, cognitive decline, and stress-related symptoms. Biofeedback helps retrain the brain's response patterns, supporting the emotional and neurological health that many women prioritize alongside their physical health.

Pelvic Floor Health

Emsella for Women

Emsella is an FDA-cleared, non-invasive therapy that uses high-intensity focused electromagnetic (HIFEM) technology to stimulate and strengthen the pelvic floor muscles. It treats urinary incontinence, overactive bladder, and pelvic floor weakness from childbirth, menopause, or age, and it supports sexual health enhancement as well.

Patients remain fully clothed and seated on the ergonomic Emsella chair. Each session delivers the equivalent of more than 11,000 supramaximal Kegel contractions in approximately 28 minutes. There is no pain, no anesthesia, and no downtime.

PMC's typical course is a 6-session protocol, usually scheduled twice a week over three weeks. Most patients notice improvement after the first few sessions, with optimal results after completing the full protocol. Results typically last up to a year, and maintenance sessions are available as needed.

Emsella is often used alongside hormone therapy and broader pelvic health interventions. It is also effective for men experiencing pelvic floor dysfunction or post-prostatectomy recovery, which is why the Men's Health page carries a brief mention.

What Patients Experience

The Benefits of Integrative Women's Health Care

Women in PMC's program report improvements across multiple areas of health. These outcomes are the result of treating root causes rather than masking symptoms with medication.

Restored Energy and Vitality

Patients consistently report a significant return of energy and stamina once hormonal balance, thyroid function, nutrient levels, and adrenal health are addressed. The exhaustion that felt permanent begins to lift as the underlying causes are resolved.

Mental Clarity and Emotional Balance

Brain fog, anxiety, mood swings, and irritability often improve significantly as hormonal balance is restored and nutritional deficiencies are corrected. Many patients describe feeling more like themselves than they have in years.

Healthy Weight and Metabolism

When the hormonal, thyroid, inflammatory, and metabolic contributors to weight gain are identified and treated, patients find that weight management becomes achievable. Body composition shifts without extreme dieting or unsustainable restriction.

Better Sleep and Recovery

Sleep disruption is one of the most common complaints in women's health, driven by hormonal shifts, cortisol dysregulation, and neurotransmitter imbalance. Patients report significant improvements in sleep quality, duration, and restorative depth as these systems are rebalanced.

Improved Sexual Health and Libido

Low libido, vaginal dryness, and reduced sensation are common but treatable. Hormonal optimization, pelvic floor therapy, and addressing the underlying metabolic and inflammatory factors that contribute to sexual dysfunction restore intimacy and comfort.

Long-Term Health Protection

Proactive diagnostic testing and early intervention lower the long-term risk of osteoporosis, cardiovascular disease, autoimmune progression, and cognitive decline. Prevention and optimization are more effective than treatment after complications develop.

Your Journey

What to Expect

PMC's women's health program follows a structured process designed to identify root causes, build a personalized plan, and support you through lasting improvement.

1

Initial Consultation

Your first visit focuses on understanding your full health history, current symptoms, lifestyle, and goals. Your provider takes the time to listen to your complete story, not just a checklist of symptoms. Based on this conversation, advanced diagnostic testing is ordered to map your hormonal, thyroid, metabolic, gut, and nutritional health in detail.

2

Diagnostic Review and Treatment Plan

Once results are in, your provider walks you through the findings and explains what they mean in practical terms. You will understand what is driving your symptoms, what your body needs, and what your treatment options look like. Your personalized plan may include hormone therapy, thyroid optimization, targeted supplementation, dietary adjustments, IV protocols, or a combination based on your specific results.

3

Treatment and Implementation

Therapies are delivered on-site at PMC. Depending on your plan, this may include bioidentical hormone replacement, IV infusions, detoxification therapies, nutritional counseling, biofeedback, or Emsella sessions. Most women receive multiple therapies during the same visit, with the clinical team coordinating everything so treatments work together toward your goals.

4

Ongoing Monitoring and Optimization

Women's health is not a one-time fix. Your provider monitors your progress through periodic retesting, tracking how your biomarkers respond to treatment and adjusting your plan as your body changes. Many patients notice significant improvements in energy, mood, and sleep within the first few weeks, with continued gains as hormonal balance and overall function are restored.

Why Progressive Medical Center

More Than a Hormone Clinic

The women's health space is crowded with providers who offer hormone prescriptions based on a single lab draw, or wellness programs that rely on supplements and lifestyle advice without any diagnostic foundation. That approach can help some women feel better temporarily, but it rarely addresses why their body is out of balance in the first place.

PMC is neither a hormone-only clinic nor a wellness spa. Nearly three decades of integrative practice shape every plan we build. Your estrogen levels are one data point among many. Your thyroid, adrenals, gut health, cardiovascular markers, nutrient levels, and inflammatory status all factor into your treatment plan, and we look at them together.

A multidisciplinary clinical team of medical doctors, naturopathic physicians, nurse practitioners, and specialists, with access to therapies that most women's health providers do not offer under one roof.

The Difference

PMC vs. Standard Women's Health Care

The clinical context changes everything about the quality of care you receive.

Common Questions

Women's Health FAQ

What should I expect at my first appointment?

Your first visit is a conversation, not a quick exam. Your provider spends time understanding your symptoms, health history, lifestyle, and goals before any testing is ordered. From there, comprehensive lab work is ordered and a personalized plan is built around your results. Consultation fees are discussed during scheduling.

What is bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT)?

BHRT uses hormones that are structurally identical to what your body produces naturally. PMC prescribes the smallest effective dose and monitors your levels closely to ensure safe, balanced results. BHRT can address symptoms of menopause, perimenopause, PMS, and other hormonal imbalances, including fatigue, weight gain, mood changes, and sleep disruption. Learn more on the Hormone Therapy page.

What is Emsella and how does it work?

Emsella is an FDA-cleared device that uses focused electromagnetic energy to strengthen the pelvic floor muscles. You sit fully clothed on a specialized chair for 28 minutes while the device delivers the equivalent of more than 11,000 supramaximal muscle contractions. It treats urinary incontinence, overactive bladder, postpartum pelvic floor weakness, and can enhance sexual health. Most patients complete a 6-session protocol and notice improvement within the first few sessions; results typically last up to a year.

Do you treat menopause naturally?

Yes. We use a combination of bioidentical hormones (in the smallest effective dose), targeted nutrition, supplements, and lifestyle modifications to manage menopause symptoms. We also monitor your cardiovascular health, bone density risk, and metabolic markers, because menopause affects far more than just hot flashes. For condition-level depth, see Menopause.

Can you help with fertility?

We address the underlying factors that affect fertility: hormone imbalances, thyroid function, inflammation, nutritional deficiencies, and stress. Our approach works alongside your reproductive specialist or as a starting point for patients who want to optimize their health before conceiving. PMC is not a fertility clinic, but root-cause evaluation often resolves factors that a fertility workup does not investigate. For condition-level depth, see Hormone Imbalance.

I've been told my symptoms are "normal for my age." Can you help?

Many of our patients come to us after being told their fatigue, weight gain, brain fog, or mood changes are just part of aging. We do not accept that framing as a final answer. Comprehensive testing often reveals treatable underlying causes: hormone imbalances, thyroid dysfunction, nutrient deficiencies, or autoimmune activity.

Is heart disease really a bigger risk for women?

Yes. Heart disease is the leading cause of death for women in the United States, and it has been for decades. PMC's women's health program includes cardiovascular risk assessment as part of the comprehensive evaluation, not as an add-on. Inflammatory markers, lipid panels, hormone interactions, and metabolic indicators that conventional screenings often miss are all part of the workup.

How soon will I see results?

Energy, sleep, and mood improvements often appear within 2 to 4 weeks. Hormonal balance, weight, skin, hair, and overall vitality develop over 2 to 3 months as the body continues to normalize.

Is women's health care covered by insurance?

PMC is out-of-network. We provide statements you can submit to your insurance carrier for possible reimbursement. Financing through Cherry and CareCredit is also available. See Insurance and Financing for more detail.

How is integrative women's health care different from seeing my OB/GYN?

OB/GYNs provide essential reproductive and gynecological care, and PMC does not replace that relationship. Many women see both their OB/GYN and PMC. We focus on the full hormonal, metabolic, and systemic picture, addressing the symptoms and conditions that often fall outside a reproductive-health visit.
