For Patients

Out-of-Town Patients

You do not have to live near us to be treated by us. Our patient navigation team handles scheduling, accommodations, and logistics so you can focus entirely on getting well.

You Are Not the First to Make the Trip

When Local Options Run Out, Patients Find Us

You have probably done a lot already. Specialists, tests, treatments, second opinions. Maybe you heard about Progressive Medical Center through a podcast, a friend who came here, a physician who referred you, or your own research into complex or chronic conditions.

Over 80% of our patients come to us after other providers have been unable to help them. A meaningful portion of those patients do not live in Atlanta. They fly in because the full diagnostic workup, integrative therapies, and coordinated care team under one roof are hard to find anywhere in the country.

Traveling for medical care is a big decision, especially when you are already exhausted by chronic illness. Our patient navigation team exists specifically so that the logistics of your visit are not one more thing you have to manage.

Nearly three decades in Atlanta. 40,000+ patients. 27+ providers and 20+ advanced therapies under one roof. Two full-time patient navigators dedicated to out-of-town coordination.

What Your Visit Looks Like

A Detailed Itinerary Before You Board the Plane

Every out-of-town patient receives a full itinerary before they arrive. Treatments begin the day you walk in. No wasted trip days, no scheduling confusion after a long flight, no guessing what happens next.

1

Your First Call

You reach our patient navigation team at (770) 676-6000 or submit a consultation request online. Your navigator takes your history, your goals, and the basics of your travel constraints.

2

Your Navigator Takes Over

Your navigator coordinates your full visit: physician schedule, diagnostic testing appointments, advanced therapy sessions, accommodations, and transportation logistics. You send previous records ahead of time so your physician team has everything before you land.

3

Day One at Progressive Medical Center

You meet your care team in person. Your physician conducts your comprehensive consultation. Progressive Medical Center uses panels covering over 1,000 biomarkers; which of those panels run depends on what your intake surfaced. Your physician, the naturopathic team, and the dietitian review your case together.

4

Your Treatment Days

Targeted therapies begin based on your personalized plan. Your navigator optimizes the daily schedule so your treatment blocks run efficiently, without long waits between appointments. No outside referrals; the full care team is under one roof.

5

Wrap-Up and Follow-Up

Before you leave, you walk through your take-home plan: supplement protocols, at-home monitoring, and the follow-up schedule. Your navigator stays in touch after you return home. Virtual check-ins with your physician and coordinated return visits keep the plan moving forward.

How Long Patients Typically Stay

Initial Consultation (1 to 2 days)

Fly in, comprehensive evaluation, diagnostic plan, fly home. Suits patients who want to start with an in-person consultation before committing to a longer program.

Intensive Therapy Programs (1 to 3 weeks)

IV therapy, EBOO, hyperbaric oxygen, and other daily treatment blocks. Schedule is built around your availability.

Cancer and Complex Case Programs (1 to 3+ months)

Progressive immunotherapy support, ongoing monitoring, treatment adjustments. Families often travel together for the longer programs; navigators coordinate lodging and logistics accordingly.

Consultation fees are $250 standard and $450 for cancer or complex cases. Treatment costs depend on your specific plan. See Insurance & Financing for out-of-network reimbursement, Cherry Financing, and CareCredit details.

A Personal Guide for Your Entire Visit

Bertie Jones Morris and the Patient Navigation Team

Progressive Medical Center employs two full-time patient navigators. The team is led by Bertie Jones Morris, Director of Patient Navigation. Bertie is an Army veteran with nearly seven years at Progressive Medical Center. She personally understands what it is like to coordinate complex health care on behalf of a family. Both of her sons are on the autism spectrum, and her framing of patient care comes from that lived experience.

Every patient should be cared for as if the person is a family member.

What your navigator does

  • Coordinates your full treatment schedule before you arrive.
  • Arranges accommodations with our hotel partners (discounted rates, curated options).
  • Helps with transportation logistics between airport, hotel, and the clinic.
  • Serves as the single point of contact between you, your providers, and support staff.
  • Checks in throughout your stay to confirm every detail is on track.
  • Coordinates follow-up care, virtual check-ins with your physician, and return visits after you go home.

Your navigator is one person who knows your name, your case, and your schedule. This is not a call center and not a support queue. This is a dedicated human being whose job is to make your experience here as smooth as possible.

Planning Your Trip

Where to Stay and How to Get Here

Your navigator helps coordinate accommodations as part of your itinerary. These are the options Progressive Medical Center has vetted for patients. All are within a short drive of our clinic in the Brookhaven / Sandy Springs area.

StayBridge Suites

Progressive Medical Center has negotiated a discounted rate with StayBridge Suites for patients. Suite-style rooms with kitchens make this a strong choice for multi-week stays. Your navigator can book this for you or walk you through the discount process.

Extended Stay America

Discount available for patients by phone. Budget-friendly for stays of 1 to 3+ months. Your navigator can coordinate the booking or give you the direct line.

PURE Rooms (Allergy-Friendly)

Specially treated accommodations designed to reduce airborne allergens and chemical triggers. Particularly relevant for the many Progressive Medical Center patients with environmental sensitivities, Lyme, mold illness, or autoimmune conditions that flare in standard hotel environments. Multiple hotels within a 10-mile radius offer PURE Rooms; see pureroom.com or ask your navigator for current availability.

Airbnb and Extended-Stay Rentals

For patients staying 1 to 3+ months or who prefer apartment-style accommodations. Your navigator can recommend neighborhoods that keep you close to the clinic and day-to-day amenities.

Getting Here

Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport is one of the busiest airports in the world, with direct flights from most major cities and many international cities. The clinic is approximately 30 minutes from the airport, depending on traffic. Rideshare, rental cars, and airport shuttles are all viable. Your navigator can recommend the best option based on your trip length and mobility.

During Your Stay

Progressive Medical Center is in the Brookhaven / Sandy Springs area with I-285 and GA-400 directly accessible. Restaurants, grocery stores, pharmacies, and parks are within walking distance of most partner hotels. Atlanta offers plenty for patients and companions during non-treatment time; your navigator can share local recommendations.

Cannot Travel Yet?

Virtual Health Coaching (Option B)

If traveling to Atlanta is not realistic right now, whether because of your health, your finances, or your schedule, our virtual health coaching program is a legitimate bridge. The program is led by Melissa Nohr.

What it includes: lab interpretation, supplement and nutrition protocols, lifestyle coaching, and ongoing coaching sessions.

What it does not include: due to state licensing and compliance requirements, virtual coaching cannot include medical diagnosis, prescription of treatments, or the advanced in-clinic therapies Progressive Medical Center is known for. This is coaching-level care, not a replacement for the full in-clinic experience.

For complex, serious, or progressive conditions, we strongly recommend an in-person visit. Virtual coaching is the right fit for patients who need structured guidance now and plan to come to the clinic when they can.

When you are ready to visit in person, our patient navigation team will handle everything.

Common Questions

Common Questions From Out-of-Town Patients

How far in advance should I plan my visit?

Two to three weeks is typical for a standard initial consultation. For intensive therapy programs or complex-case evaluations, four to six weeks helps us build the full schedule, coordinate accommodations, and make sure every test and treatment slot is in place before you arrive. If your situation is urgent, call us and we will work to accelerate the timeline.

Can a family member or companion travel with me?

Absolutely, and for longer programs we encourage it. Your navigator can help coordinate couple, caregiver, or family-friendly accommodations. Companions are welcome at your consultation if you want the extra support.

What does an initial evaluation visit look like?

Plan for approximately 90 minutes at the clinic on your first day. The appointment includes a 45 to 60 minute consultation with your physician, physical examination, and diagnostic plan discussion. Depending on your case, advanced diagnostic testing may start the same day. See our New Patient Information page for the full first-visit walkthrough.

Will I need to return for follow-up visits?

Many out-of-town patients do. Frequency depends on your condition, your response to the initial treatment block, and the protocol your physician recommends. Your navigator coordinates return visits and your physician team stays in contact with you between trips through virtual check-ins.

How much does treatment cost for out-of-town patients?

Consultation fees are $250 standard and $450 for cancer or complex cases. Treatment costs depend on your specific plan. Progressive Medical Center is out-of-network for all insurance providers; we provide detailed superbills for out-of-network reimbursement. Cherry Financing and CareCredit are both accepted. See Insurance & Financing for the full picture.

Do you coordinate with my local doctors?

Yes. With your permission, we share findings, diagnostic results, and treatment plans with your referring or primary-care physician so your care at home is coordinated with what we are doing here. For complex cases where ongoing local lab draws or infusions are needed, we work to set that up with a provider near you.

What if I cannot travel to Atlanta right now?

Our virtual health coaching program with Melissa Nohr is designed for exactly this situation. It is coaching-level care (lab interpretation, supplement and nutrition guidance, lifestyle coaching) rather than the full in-clinic experience, due to state licensing and compliance requirements. For complex or progressive conditions, we still recommend an in-person visit. See the Health Coaching page for program details.
