The Story Behind the Mission
From Personal Challenge to Patient Advocacy
Bertie Jones Morris came to patient navigation through both profession and family. Her father is a Registered Nurse. Her mother, a healthcare technology specialist, taught her about herbal remedies and supplements from a young age. Bertie herself is a 10-year U.S. Army veteran, and she brings the discipline and service orientation of that background to how she runs the navigation function at PMC.
Before joining PMC's patient navigation team almost seven years ago, Bertie spent five years as Assistant Manager at Progressive Nutracare, the practice's nutritional arm. Prior to PMC, she worked as a Nutraceutical Store Manager, Patient Advocate, and Project Manager at an environmental medicine practice in Atlanta. Patient advocacy has been part of her professional life for over a decade.
Her most important credential is personal. Bertie is a mother of two sons on the autism spectrum. The knowledge she built caring for them, drawn from both conventional medicine and natural remedies, has been invaluable in their wellness. That lived experience shapes how she works with PMC patients. She has been on the patient side of complex care, and she knows what it feels like to need someone you can trust to keep the details straight.
Bertie holds an A.S. in Medical Billing and Coding from Herzing University and a Diploma in Medical Office Administration from Kerr Business College. Outside of work, she studies the Bible, volunteers at her church, and is always on the lookout for the next healthy food that actually tastes good.

The Navigation Process
How Bertie Supports Your Care
When you call PMC, Bertie's team is part of the first conversation. After your initial consultation with a clinical provider, Bertie steps in to coordinate every detail of your treatment plan.
She schedules your therapies (IV infusions, regenerative medicine, diagnostics, allergy treatments) into a calendar that makes sense. She explains your recommended protocols so you understand the reasoning behind each step. For patients traveling to Atlanta for intensive care, she manages the full itinerary: scheduling, logistics, accommodations coordination, and daily support. If questions arise between appointments, she is your single point of contact, the person who knows your case inside and out.
For out-of-town patients especially, Bertie makes sure you never feel lost. She has coordinated care for many patients flying in for extended treatment, and she understands the challenges of being far from home while managing a complex protocol.
