The Practitioner and Her Approach
A Science Background Applied to Natural Medicine
Firlande earned dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Microbiology and Chemistry from the University of Florida. Before turning to naturopathic medicine, she worked as a chemist, a biometric health screening manager, and a personal trainer. That hard-science foundation still shapes how she reads lab results and builds treatment plans.
She graduated from Sonoran University of Health Sciences (formerly Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine and Health Sciences), a fully accredited four-year naturopathic medical school in Tempe, Arizona, and received her license to practice naturopathic medicine in 2007. She completed an additional year of classical homeopathy study at the American Medical College of Homeopathy in Phoenix, along with further training in IV therapy, Traditional Chinese Medicine and acupuncture, minor surgery, environmental medicine, and naturopathic manipulation.
Firlande completed her residency on an Indian Reservation, working with patients living with addiction to drugs and alcohol. The setting put her in sustained contact with people who had been failed by fragmented care and who needed a practitioner who could hold both the clinical picture and the human one. That year is still part of how she approaches complex patients today.
With more than 15 years in natural medicine, Firlande has written as a 3x Amazon bestselling author and speaks on gut health, naturopathic medicine, and related topics in print, on podcasts, and on the lecture stage. Outside the clinic, she enjoys drawing, knitting, hiking, and spending time with family and friends.

Your First Visit
What to Expect with Firlande
Your first visit with Firlande includes a detailed review of your digestive history, symptoms, diet, lifestyle, and health goals. She takes time to understand the full picture before recommending treatment.
Depending on what she finds, your plan may incorporate naturopathic medicine, diagnostic testing (including specialized gut testing where indicated), dietary changes and nutritional protocols, targeted supplements, IV therapy, or detoxification support. Firlande works alongside the diagnostics team and MDs at PMC, so if your condition requires imaging, endoscopy, or medical oversight, those resources are available within the same facility. She coordinates with specialists so your naturopathic treatment aligns with any conventional care you may already be receiving.
