The Practitioner and Her Approach
Pediatric Training Meets Functional Medicine
Melanie Wardle is a board-certified pediatric nurse practitioner who earned her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of South Florida, where she specialized in pediatric nurse practitioner training. She completed her prior coursework at A.T. Still's University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Arizona. She also holds certification from the Medical Academy of Pediatric Special Needs (FMAPS), a credential focused on functional and integrative care for children with complex developmental and behavioral conditions.
Her clinical foundation spans some of the country's premier pediatric institutions. Wardle trained and worked at Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital, UCLA Mattel Children's Hospital, and St. Joseph's Children's Hospital before joining Progressive Medical Center. In those settings, she worked with children facing complex developmental, behavioral, and immune challenges, the cases that often leave parents searching for answers.
Wardle sees children from infancy through early adulthood and leads PMC's functional pediatrics program. Her practice is grounded in a patient-centered philosophy: parents deserve to understand the roots of their child's conditions, the treatment options available, and how that treatment will unfold over time. She wants families to be informed partners in every decision, not passive recipients of a protocol.

The First Visit
How Wardle Works With Your Family
Your first visit begins with a detailed conversation about your child's health history, developmental milestones, and the concerns that brought you to PMC. Wardle takes time to listen to you as the parent and, when appropriate, to your child. From there, her workup may include comprehensive diagnostic testing, gut health evaluation, food sensitivity panels, or other targeted assessments to identify what may be driving your child's symptoms.
You receive a clear treatment plan with specific next steps, a timeline, and the reasoning behind each recommendation. Wardle believes families should leave the office understanding why each step is being taken and how it fits into the bigger picture of their child's care.
Treatment plans draw on the full PMC toolkit, including naturopathic medicine, IV therapy, and detoxification support, coordinated under one roof. Your family stays informed throughout: updates, lab result reviews, and plan adjustments happen with you as an active partner.
